How To: Peel a Pineapple {Thai-style}

reading time: ca. 2 min

Have you ever seen a Thai woman slice up a pineapple? no? well, let me tell you, it looks a-ma-zing. i don't know about you, but i always found it hard to get the frickin shell off of this fruit without losing a finger or cutting away half the fruit flesh.

See below to learn how to peel and cut pineapples the proper way!
i decided to give it a try myself. took us two attempts to get the hang of it and i'm still learning, but so far it's looking pretty good.

so here's how you do it:

Dealing with Bloating

reading time: ca. 4 min

hello there, tummy lovers!

it's been a while since my last Dealing With... so I decided it was time for one today. even though we live in the golden age of the internet where everyone can speak their mind, there are some topics that nobody likes to address. they are "taboo", like sweating, contraception, callus, pooping, menstruation - you get the picture. and i get that. these are touchy subjects, most of them nasty to look at and not the most comfortable thing to talk about in your everyday life. but even though we try to push them to the back of our mind and pretend like they would never ever happen to us, these subjects are the ones that acquire our attention more than anything.

one of these topics is bloating.

a pesky topic that effects everyone (don't even try to deny it). bloating describes the swelling of your abdominal area, often including cramps and gas passing, creating an unpleasant tight, full feeling in your tummy. it is usually a sign of a poor diet or any form of stress*. it is a sign that food isn't being digested correctly by your body.

say goodbye to bloating!

Somewhere at the Sea

reading time: ca. 1 min

hey there -
are you sighing for a glimpse of seashore? soft sand between your toes. a splash of salty water. whitecapped waves in the distance, and the hot gleam of the sun on your skin... sigh.

well. i recently made a trip to a harbour city at the seaside, but honestly it was much more city than harbour. lots of greys and browns. i ended up taking some pictures anyway because i quite liked the cityscape. there's something boxy, clean and empty about it that fascinates me. very industrial.

well, just see for yourselves:

Big Hair Don't Care

reading time: ca. 1 min

hey there
so i cut my hair last week. yep, i just took a pair of scissors and chopped it right off. it was super hot that day, the heat was building up at the back of my neck under my hair and i just decided it was time for some air.

i feel much lighter now (at least 5 inches lighter, haha) and i don't even mind my unstraightened hair bouncing around my face. yeah, i have natural curls. blessing and curse, right?

So, even if you do have naturally curly hair like me, but don't wanna walk around with a frizzy bird's nest on top of your head, you still have to define those curls

Here's how i do it:

hello munchies
so i will make it quick and easy again: as mentioned in last week's post about my one-week trip with my brother, i have been to a picturesque small town called Lüneburg. since i was abnormally fascinated by it's architecture, here are some images that hopefully succeeded to capture the old-fashioned beauty of Lüneburg:
